No 1 anti-ageing breakthrough of the decade
The natural ageing process, combined with our exposure to sun and pollution, destroys collagen, the main protein of connective tissue. Collagen creates the volume in our skin, or as we call it, the facial scaffolding. Collagen depletion is the primary cause of facial lines, sagging and loose skin on the face and body.
CO2 Fractional Laser has been described by many doctors as ‘the no. 1 anti-ageing breakthrough of the decade’. Laser resurfacing uses beamlets of energy light to perforate tiny holes in the skin, which works to put the body’s natural collagen production on fast-forward.
New developments in customised results
Traditional ablative lasers for skin rejuvenation use a laser beam to vaporize the top layers of damaged skin, creating a wound, which would often take 2 – 4 weeks to heal.
Here’s what’s new: CO2 Fractional laser resurfacing does this in a way that prevents damage to the epidermis or top layer of skin, offering maximum results with minimal recovery time. Unlike other fractional lasers the deeper level of heat emitted into the tissue by the CO2 fractional laser causes collagen contraction. This creates a tightening of the skin in addition to refining and smoothing the skin’s surface, correcting pigments and skin discolouration.
The Saphira Fractional laser offers the world’s latest advances in this technology featuring even more flexibility in treatment levels, allowing practitioners to customise results and select a suitable recovery schedule comprising of little to no downtime.
How does the CO2 fractional laser resurfacing work?
The fractional technology delivers the DOT laser energy in a pixel like fashion where microscopic perforations are made into the skin right next to each other via a computer-generated pattern. This fractionated C02 laser technology delivers microscopic columns of laser energy through the skin, resurfacing anywhere from 30 to 50% of skin surface area. The other 70 to 50% of non-ablated skin area facilitates faster healing. The heat generated in the dermis by the thousands of dots of laser energy causes tightening of collagen bundles and therefore you could expect an overall tighter, fresher, and more youthful looking skin.
How many laser treatments will i need?
The Saphira CO2 fractional laser treatments can produce significant results for mild to moderately damaged skin over the course of 3 to 6 treatments. Typically, there is little to no recovery time, although some clients may experience redness, swelling and irritation to the treatment area where there is a plan for a more intense level of treatment.
CO2 Fractional Laser would be a great treatment for you if you are wanting to:
- Reduce wrinkles
- Reducing fine lines
- Reducing furrows
- Improve skin texture
- Reduce pigmented lesions (age/sun spots)
- Reduce sun-induced redness
- Skin resurfacing

Choosing the best Resurfacing and Corrective treatment for you
At Saphira Clinic we offer several options for skin resurfacing and colour correction, which include E-Light Photorejuvenation, Clear & Brilliant Fractional Laser, Fraxel Laser and CO2 Fractional Laser. Some of the factors that we take into consideration when offering a resurfacing and corrective treatment include:
- The severity and type of condition to be treated.
- The level of time that a client is willing to attribute to recovery.
- The level of discomfort a client is willing to attribute to treatment and recovery.
- The personal financial resources that a client is willing to attribute to the treatment.
Prior to the selection of a resurfacing and corrective treatment you will be given specific details on what you might expect from each treatment and how to minimise possible side effects, and what to do to maximise results.
